All thank you stopping by. In addition to showcasing our books and other art tools and techniques, we thought it might be fun to bring you art that we find interesting from the folks here at creating 123, our community, and the broad reaches of the World Wide Web. To that end let’s get started with this terrific body casting/mosaic/wall sconce! What a combination of different techniques we see here.
The artist caste his subject using plaster bandages, then made a plaster piece from that shell. The piece was then dressed in a sleeveless T-shirt using a tile mosaic and then grouted. After enjoying the peace for a while the artist felt that as well as a daylight sculpture they could also enjoy it back lit for night. We hope you enjoy seeing it.
The caste measures approximately 2’ x 2’ to the ends of the shoulders and from neck to waist. The copper body paint was added after the piece was tiled.
