One of these days I’m going to use these. They were given to me as a gift many years ago with the intention that as I went to interesting places and sought interesting subjects I would do a quick watercolor sketch and then send them off to friends and relatives with a little note. I don’t think the person who gave them to me bless her heart realize that there’s not too many people that probably would like to hear from me first and have a piece of original art that would probably be mediocre at best. However, I did take them with me to Italy and Spain and they remain untouched even though I always whine about “just having one day to just sit and paint” in Italy and Spain.
In my defense, in those countries food and wine can easily get in the way of your ambitions. However, I still think they are wonderful idea. You’ll see from the photos that they are a tiny studio in a box. There’s your watercolor paper postcards, primary color watercolors, the plastic mixing palette, and a nice sable brush. It opens and closes easily with a magnet that holds it shut! Someday, I’ll do a video review of it…. Someday.
